According to Leporati
Since 2006, Leporati has chosen to obtain EMAS certification (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), a completely voluntary certification that allows companies to assess and improve their environmental performance.
For Leporati, contributing to the achievement of sustainable socio-economic development is a key objective—an authentic act of responsibility.
Leporati is committed to ensuring that its product is truly sustainable—not just in words, but according to measurable and certified criteria.
Significant investments have been made, and continue to be made, in energy efficiency, including the use of renewable energy sources, emissions reduction, and increasingly virtuous circular economy practices. As proof of the company’s dedication to these themes, it has held ISO 50001 certification since 2016.
Sustainable Energy

Condensing Systems
Latest-generation heating boilers for maximum energy efficiency.

Enthalpic System
The windows in the curing area open automatically when specific environmental conditions are met.

Regenerative Heating
Heat generated by the refrigeration cell motors is stored and reused to produce hot water.

Photovoltaic Panels
The photovoltaic system absorbs solar energy even under suboptimal weather conditions and produces clean electricity.
Circular Economy

Recovery of Spent Salt
The spent salt from the ham salting process is collected and reused by tanneries or for de-icing roads in winter.

Reuse of Processing Waste
Animal-origin waste from the production process is supplied to authorized companies and then used in feed production or cogeneration plants.

Treatment of Process Water
Special degreasing tanks have been installed to clean process water and better dispose of the fat it contains.
